Our "Altes Amtshaus" is located in the centre of Groß Reken. Directly in front of the door you will find the "Bleeseke Plass" where there are plenty of free parking spaces available. You can reach our entrance area via the four steps of the terrace of Café Mensing, which is located on our ground floor. For bicycles, there is a guide rail on the stairs that makes it easier for you to get to the entrance.
As we are a reception-free accommodation, you will find a control panel at the entrance door. There you enter your door code, which we sent you by e-mail the day before your arrival. Checking in with us is like checking in with an airline, no matter what time, no waiting times and no staff on site.
Arrived in the hall you can reach the 1st floor with the vacation rooms 1 to 5 over the stairs. Should you need help to get entrance to your room, in the hall you can find a display stand with a step by step guide. The vacation flat is located in the 2nd floor of our house. There you get also entrance to your flat over the control panel with your code.
In the ground floor you can find the café Mensing, which offers daily fresh breakfast, snack, and coffee and cake offerings. Do you want to feed yourself? That’s no problem, because at us you are flexible. The communal kitchen is fully equipped and provides enough space for cooking. You can also enjoy your Mensing-breakfast in the communal kitchen with free coffee.
Our bicycle cellar
Your stay with bicycles with us in the "Altes Amtshaus".
You would like to arrive at our Amtshaus with bicycles? No problem! As the entrance to our accommodation is accessible via four steps, you will find a bicycle guide rail there.
Once you have checked in via the control panel at the entrance door to the Amtshaus, you will find the cellar door directly on the left-hand side. To access the bicycle cellar, please also open this door via the control panel with the corresponding code you have received.
The basement stairs are equipped as well as the entrance stairs with a bicycle rail. So you can push your bicycle comfortably into the basement. The bicycle basement is signposted for you, there are some loading docks for e-bikes available. The sliding function of the e-bikes enables to transport also heavy bikes with the bicycle rail from the basement upstairs.
Your e-bike must be charged, but you don’t want to bring it first into the basement? No problem, at our house (side street) you can find a e-charging station where you can charge your bike comfortably.

The “Altes Amtshaus” is located very central in the center of Groß Reken. In close proximity you can reach different shopping possibilities.
Only after a short walk you can reach different restaurants, where you can let it taste. From snacks over pizzeria up to classic home cooking – here can be found something for everyone.
In and around Reken you can practice many activities. In a distance from about 4 km you can find the deer park “Frankenhof” – for children it’s a real paradise. There you can experience amazing adventures with animals and forest activities.
Furthermore Reken offers amazing bicycle tours, on various places can be borrowed bikes too!
A great destination for a short trip in warm temperatures is the Reken open-air swimming pool or the water treading pool in the immediate vicinity.
A real experience are the "wild horses" in the Merfelder Bruch in Dülmen. In approx. 19 km not only horse fans get their money's worth, a beautiful landscape awaits you.
